Learn how I'm building income from digital assets — real tools, quiet progress, and a desire to spend more time with my daughter.

When I first heard the term “digital assets,” I thought it sounded complicated. But after spending some time in this space, I realised it’s actually quite simple — and more powerful than I expected.
For me, digital assets are things I build once that can keep working even when I’m not. That could be a landing page, a simple download, an affiliate product, or even a T-shirt design. If it lives online and can generate income without needing me 24/7, it’s a digital asset.
And right now, that’s what I’m building my future on.
I like to keep things practical.
A digital asset might be:
Over time, these pieces start linking together. One email connects to one page, which links to one product — and suddenly, it’s more than just a page. It’s an ecosystem that earns.
I’m not building content just for the sake of it. I’m building with purpose — little systems that can grow over time.
Right now, I drive for Grab to make ends meet. It’s honest work, but the income disappears the moment I stop driving.
My daughter lives with her mum, and I want to spend more time with her. That’s what all of this is really about. I’m not chasing internet fame or fast money. I just want freedom — freedom to be present, to choose how I use my time, and to build something that could replace the hours I spend behind the wheel.
These digital assets are my way there.
People ask me what I do for a living.
I tell them — I’m a digital asset creator.
That’s not just a title. It’s how I view my role right now. It may not pay the bills yet, but it’s where I’m putting my heart. It’s what I want to grow into.
Each small step matters. Quiet, consistent progress toward something better.
Here are the kinds of digital assets I’m working on:
Each one might only bring in a little. But stacked together, they start to form something real.
Build once. Earn again. That’s what a digital asset is to me.
This website — The Hopeful Tree — isn’t my main project. It’s the place where I document the process. Where I keep track of what I’m learning, what I’m building, and how it’s going.
If you’re thinking about starting your own online journey, don’t wait for perfection. Just begin. Learn as you go. Show up consistently and see where it leads.
And if you’re already building your own version of this — I’d love to hear what you’re working on.
Let’s keep planting. Something good will grow.
